The Rise of AI: Heroes and Villains

October 26 | 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Frances C. Arrillaga Alumni Center, Stanford University

The rise of AI is revolutionizing the world — the way in which we live, work, and innovate.
With it, comes a fundamental shift in our approach to cybersecurity and privacy. In the past, the primary focus of cybersecurity was to protect our systems from human attackers. Today, we’re seeing the duality of AI: those who use this evolving technology with both valiant and nefarious intentions that introduce new, more sophisticated threats.

The good news? AI can also swoop in to save the day. The advancement of AI technology gives us leverage to develop new and powerful security solutions to heroically counter these threats. The “good side” of AI can be used to keep our digital infrastructure secure, protect our privacy and intellectual property, and who knows — maybe one day, save the human race.
Remember, “with great power, comes great responsibility.”

The Stanford Cybersecurity and Privacy Festival brings together leading experts, from industry, academia, and government to have thought-provoking discussions on the latest trends and challenges in cybersecurity. This year, our eye is on AI. Get ready!

All Stanford University, Stanford Health Care, SLAC, and the broader higher education communities are invited.
